Raised in Harford County, Coach Bill Ackerman attended Edgewood High and West Virginia Wesleyan College, playing three years of college football. Ackerman returned to his roots hoping to use his athletic passion to help others. He began coaching football at a local high school, and over the past 14 years has built an extensive career helping others achieve greatness in the wellness and sports performance community.  

Wellness is a passion that Bill holds close to his heart, as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, heart attackstroke and severe back pain have impacted his family directly. Coach Ackerman’s results-based training has totaled well over 1000 lbs. lost from his wellness clients over the years.  

While Bill is able to harness active lifestyles for wellness, he’s excelled even more in sports performance – becoming one of the most credible performance coaches for student athletes in the Baltimore area. 

“Coach Ack, “ as referred to by his student athletes, uses a unique blend of science and practical application that has helped create a recipe for success for 800+ student athletes in a variety of high school and college sportsOne of the biggest things you will notice is the long and extensive list of 120 + colleges/ universities his student athletes have attended in different sports all over the country, along with a handful of professional athletes who seek his guidance.   

Bill continues to reside in Harford County in Bel Air, Md with his wife Ashley and three children – two sons, Lincoln and Briggs, and his daughter, Yeardley.

The strength and conditioning coach is one of the most important hires a coach has to make when developing kids and creating a winning culture.  I have used many different coaches in preparing our teams to be successful in the last 15 years.  From big box gyms to coaches to other coaches across the Baltimore region with Coach Ack being the best by far and who I turn to for our student athletes needs.  Athletes benefit from a strength and conditioning program designed for their needs.  He sets player specific goals that are calendar specific and utilizes smart assessments for players to be successful while holding them to a high standard of accountability.
